Recession ending in the UK?

By at home

Gloomy Brits are feeling cautiously optimistic about the economy, according to a recent poll for The Times.

The number of people thinking business will do better and that the country will do well economically over the next year has risen from a quarter to a third since July – it is now the highest since April 2008.

But in true Brit style, nearly two thirds of us still think that the country will do badly over the next year, which is not altogether surprising seeing as the British economy shrank by 0.4% in the third quarter, marking the longest period of recession since World War Two.

Is Business on the up? Do you think the economy is turning a corner?
