Just when you were counting the years to your retirement, it has now been decided that we can all work well into our 70s and even our 80s if we have a burning desire to carry on.
You won’t have to of course, but you will have the right to request flexible hours from your employer, much like parents are able to do now. Labour’s deputy leader Harriet Harman says a major shake-up in the law is vital to smash the idea that people are ‘past it’ once they hit 65.
